Students shortlist college for award

A panel representing students from Scotland’s colleges have shortlisted Borders College’s 2013 Prospectus for a national award.

The prospectus has been selected for the College Development Network Marketing Awards in the category: Students’ Award for Prospectus. The award is judged and awarded by students.

Utilising the latest ‘augmented reality’, the prospectus allows users to view additional content when used in conjunction with a smartphone and the free college app. Users download the app and view target images located throughout the prospectus, and get the opportunity to hear what real college students have to say about Borders College. These and other information videos bring the pages of the prospectus to life.

A spokesperson said: “We are the only college in Scotland currently using augmented reality to enhance the user experience, in a prospectus, in this way, and students benefit from hearing what their peers have to say about our college”.

The winner will be announced on February 28 at a ceremony in Glasgow.

You can download the app and view the prospectus by visiting the college website www.borderscollege.ac.uk.
