Selkirk court bails Edinburgh man accused of Eyemouth jewellery robbery

A MAN accused of a masked raid on an antiques shop in the Borders has appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

David Scott, 20, of Gracemount Drive, Edinburgh, denies brandishing a hammer and assaulting three people and robbing them of jewellery at Chapel Antiques in High Street Eyemouth in July 2010.

Scott has also pleaded not guilty to assaulting a 76-year-old woman in the town’s Church Street and demanding her car keys and assaulting another woman with intent to steal her car.

He also denies assaulting two people in Victoria Road and demanding that a driver get out of his car – again with intent to steal the vehicle.

He was freed on bail and his trial takes place on October 8 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
