The citizens and businesses of Selkirk have dug deep to help a forthcoming charity auction hopefully give a major funding boost to Rowland’s youth facility.
The auction is scheduled for, Saturday, October 12, and is aimed at raising cash for youth projects which support local youngsters from first year of secondary school until they turn 18. “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community in giving and pledging items,” said a spokesperson for Rowland’s. “We have lots of vouchers for meals in local hotels and restaurants, as well as golf clubs, bikes, a Christmas present wrapping service, piano lessons and more.”
Refreshments and light lunches will be served from 11am, with items on view from noon and the auction starts at 1pm.
z A new homework club will be held on Thursdays from 4-5pm, starting October 3, with lots of fun activities even if you don’t have homework!
z Rowland’s AGM is Thursday, November 14, at 7pm.
