Riders rise over £1,500

HORSE riders, runners and hikers raised more than £1,500 on a 10-mile route through the Cheviots last month.

The last ‘Follow the Flags’ ride at The Yett, Morebattle, was in aid of the Borders branches of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the British Horse Society (BHS).

More than 100 people from as far afield as Yorkshire and Cumbria took part in the ride, organised by Peter and Rhona Elliot, who thanked David and Poppy Shepherd and Beryl Masson for flagging the ride, Tom Douglas for donating a hog and lamb roast, and the BHS committee for the homebaking and drinks.
