Police recover drugs in raid

POLICE recovered £2,000 worth of cannabis from a house in Roxburghe Drive, Hawick on Monday.

Subsequently, a 35-year-old man was charged on suspicion of offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesperson said: “Whilst our high-profile campaign of last summer, Operation Goal, may be finished, tackling drug misuse in the Borders will continue to be a priority for our officers.”

He added: “I would urge anyone with information in relation to drug activity to contact their local police station or to report it to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
