Exciting changes ahead for Southern

THERE are some exciting changes ahead for The Southern Reporter.

Following a readers’ survey, TheSouthern is about to undergo a dramatic transformation by becoming a more modern compact-size – making us ‘easier to pick up, harder to put down!’

The first compact paper will hit the shops on Thursday, March 21.

It’s the end of an era, however, the move from broadsheet to compact is not something we are undertaking lightly, but follows extensive research with the public, who whole-heartedly supported the change.

The new compact, which will also benefit from an extensive redesign, will be easier to handle and more suited to current lifestyles.

Despite the change in appearance, the newspaper’s traditional values and unrivalled coverage of news, sport, information and advertising will continue to be delivered to the people of the Borders.

And while we have listened to and acted on what you had to say about the size of the paper, now’s your chance to tell us what you like about the paper, and what you would like to see
more of.

Perhaps you want more entertainment news, or more human interest stories. Perhaps you would like to see wider coverage of youth sports, or added features such as restaurant reviews, health and fitness items, or you would like a games page with a crossword and soduko? Or you’d like more information on what your local politician is doing on your behalf?

Whatever it is, we want to hear about it so we can make sure TheSouthern remains the best read in the Borders.

We’ve put together a short survey, which you can access online at http://www.snapsurveys.com/swh/surveylogin.asp?k=135851554601&s=1

So visit online to have your say on what you’d like to see and read in the new-look Southern, and as a way of saying thank you, we’ll enter you into our prize draw.
