Earlston salon hopes to make awards cut

Morag Sterrick owner of Aquarius Hairdressers in Earlston and her recent 2012 Scottish Borders Business Diversity Award. She has also installed novelty cupboards in the shape of the front of a Roll Royce and a Mini in her salon.

An Earlston hairdressers has made the regional final of a leading industry award.

Aquarius is competing for L’Oreal’s Colour Trophy, and travels to Glasgow on April 11 for the Scottish and Northern Irish final.

The team of Morag Sterrick, Megan Bilsland and Luana Henderson will get 45 minutes to complete their look using model Lisa Gilbertson, of Galashiels shop LA Bridalwear.

If successful, the quartet will be asked to travel to London’s Grosvenor Hotel in June for the UK final.

Morag, whose salon won a Business Diversity Award last year, said: “It is exciting to be involved and would be great to make London.”
