Concert for Africa

KELSO fiddler Carly Blain is performing with Graeme Armstrong for charity at Kelso North Parish Church Hall on Saturday. They will be joined by some of Carly’s pupils and the young folk band Highline to raise money to build a school and a water treatment plant in Africa.

Carly’s brother-in-law, Chris Tilly, is going to Tanzania to help build it. He said: “It will be built because I am helping build it. I have paid all my expenses myself and am using my holidays from work.”

Chris hopes to raise £3,500 from the concert, a karaoke night, several running events and others.

Doors open at 7pm for the Kelso concert, which starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 for adults and £2 for children, including refreshments.
