Climate change talk

Geographer and leading authority on climate change, Dr Jim Hansom, will be giving a talk on 'coping with sea-level changes' in Melrose next week.

Organised by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS), the Viridor Waste Management Ltd Illustrated Talk will take place at The Wynd Theatre and will explore the natural processes and human activities that shape the ever-changing Scottish coastline.

A spokesman for the organisation said: "Jim Hansom is a popular speaker and his talk will undoubtedly be topical, focusing as it will on climate change, something that will inevitably impact on the lives of all of us."

Dr Hansom is a senior lecturer in the department of geography and geometrics at the University of Glasgow.

The event takes place at The Wynd Theatre in Melrose at 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 3.

Tickets are available on the door, priced 6 (students free).
