Children taken to hospital after Peeblesshire crash

TWO children were taken to hospital by ambulance after a car crash in Peeblesshire.

The youngsters – a five-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy – ended up in Edinburgh’s Sick Kids’ Hospital following the accident a mile outside Carlops about 10pm last Thursday.

The Peugeot 307 vehicle the pair were travelling in skidded before leaving the A702 road and hitting an electricity pole.

Fire crews from West Linton and Penicuik administered first aid to the children, as well as a 39-year-old man and 40-year-old woman who were also in the car.

Firefighters reported several injuries to the passengers.
