Black Path walker attacked

A POLICE investigation is under way after a woman was attacked on the Black Path walkway in Galashiels.

The 22-year-old was alone when she was punched on the face by an unknown female assailant.

A police spokesman said the attack, which happened around 10.50am on Monday, was unprovoked.

The victim was able to give a description to police. The attacker is described as white, about 5’5” and of average build. She’s aged between 20 and 25, with dark, shoulder-length hair. The victim said her attacker was wearing a black jacket and denim jeans.

Lothian and Borders Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
