Learning about mental health and the road to recovery

Galashiels Rotarians  were told about the work of the Health in Mind Befriending Service which offers help to people who are isolated in the 'recovery phase of mental health difficulties.'Members were addressed at their latest meeting by Julia Flockhart and Kevin Kent, pictured with past president Andrew Brown, who explained that volunteers were matched with clients and assisted with all aspects of recovery, focusing on abilities, interests and attributes.'All volunteers, who can be any age, needed is life experience, the ability to empathise and good listening skills. Full training is given.
