A SMALL piece of Ireland comes dancing into Langholm this Wednesday.
In Love With The Dance features world-class Irish performers, accompanied by traditional musicians playing a variety of instruments.
This year has, so far, been an exciting one for the show, with Ben Sands joining the musical team.
A spokesman for In Love With The Dance said: “Ben has been singing folk with his sister and two brothers since the 1960s as The Sands Family.
“They have recently released their 16th album Keep on Singing, and have made countless television appearances, performing extensively in Ireland, UK, Europe, Canada and USA, including the Carnegie Hall.
“They have shared microphones with such folk luminaries as Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Harry Belafonte and Arlo Guthrie.”
Also joining the cast this year is Glasgow-based George Deadman.
Now 23, George started dancing at the age of nine and has since won 11 Scottish Regional Irish Dancing Championships, second place in the British Championships and fifth in the Worlds.
Professionally, George has performed all over the world, including Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance on its 2010 European tour.
Driving force behind the show is Brian Donnelly, who has won national and world titles, and is also the producer.
Tickets for In Love With The Dance – which has already toured the United States, France and Germany this year – are priced at £19.50 (£18 concessions) for their 7.30pm Buccleuch Centre appearance. Phone 013873 81196 for more details.
