Jedburgh walking festival group gets a grip of shepherd’s crook
There is a shepherd’s crook which is given to the group organising that year’s festival. The group has it engraved before handing the crook on to the following year’s festival organisers.
Selkirk and the Valleys were in charge of the 2019 event and at a handover ceremony, the Jedburgh team took possession. The picture shows three from the four-strong 2019 team handing over the crook to two from the Jedburgh group.

Hide AdSue Briggs, chair of Selkirk and the Valleys team, said: “We had fantastic feedback through our online survey and anecdotally from walkers and the local community. We had so much support in making it happen and we loved every minute. We were the 25th outing and Jedburgh are the actual 25th year of the longest-running walking festival in Scotland, started in 1995.”
