Marion Brodie, above left, and Gwen Croan joined fellow Galashiels Inner Wheel members for an evening of craft and chat.

They knitted squares and sewed them into blankets, while the less crafty trimmed used stamps from envelopes – all as projects for various charities. The main purpose of the evening, however, was to start the task of making ruffles to be incorporated into Braw Lad rosettes which have been sold by Inner Wheel for a few years in the run-up to the Gala Week celebrations.

As declaration night is just around the corner, the members decided that early birds would be able to purchase the various rosettes and hairclips at the Inner Wheel afternoon tea and table top sale to be held at St Peter’s Church on April 20.
