As we approach May’s Scottish Parliament elections, a walk along the frontage of MSP John Lamont’s shop in Hawick shows that he is trying to pull the wool over the local electorate’s eyes.
John Lamont is a Tory through and through. However, looking at his shop front and huge poster in the window there is absolutely no indication that he is a Conservative.
Instead, he seems to be selling his Scottishness to dupe the public into voting for his name only, rather than associate his name with the Tory party who decimated the Hawick knitwear industry when it was in power and are currently making 500,000 public sector workers redundant.
Is John Lamont standing as an Independent, or is he still a Tory in sheep’s clothing?
