The last few weeks have flown by in a haze of training, meetings and events – but as things start to settle down I wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in the local elections, but particularly to those of you in Selkirkshire who put your trust in me and gave me your vote.
I promise I will not let you down and will do my very best to ensure that your views and needs are represented, and that Scottish Borders Council acts in the best interests of the people of this region.
I also wanted to say thank you to all those who have sent me cards and messages, and to my family and work colleagues who have been so very supportive during the campaign and the emotional aftermath.
I recognise that I have been elected to work on behalf of the people of Selkirkshire and I hope (as many of you already have) that you will all feel able to contact me, or stop me in the street if you have any issues or concerns that you want support or assistance with, or of course if you just want to say hello.
I can now be contacted in the following ways in addition to those previously advised – email, firstname.lastname@example.org; mobile, 07767 003975 (although please note I have no mobile reception at home).
I look forward over the coming years to getting to know everyone and hopefully making a positive difference.
(councillor for Selkirkshire)
