Staff from The Co-operative Travel in Kelso are celebrating after they successfully completed a jump off the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas to raise money for charity.
Assistant branch manager Jacqueline Douglas and travel adviser Isla Clark completed the jump – the highest controlled free fall in the world – in aid of Mencap, The Co-operative Group’s charity of the year, and have already raised £650.
They were joined on the trip by travel consultant Kirsty Laing and branch manager Louise Welsh.
Kelso was the company’s branch of the year for 2010, and part of the prize was the visit to Las Vegas.
Jacqueline told us: “It was an amazing – and terrifying – experience, but we were all thrilled to have completed it.
“If anyone would like to donate money to Mencap there’s still plenty of time: please come and see us at the branch in The Square.”
