Earlston Paths Group volunteers were among hundreds of volunteers who attended the annual Celebrating Scotland’s Walking Champions awards, which was hosted by Scottish charity Paths for All at The Scottish Parliament recently.
The event celebrates the achievements of volunteers and their contribution to getting Scotland more active.
Volunteers involved in health walks and developing community paths were recognised at the event, which was sponsored by MSP Patricia Ferguson and chaired by charity president, broadcaster Mark Stephen.
Although not among the winners, the Earlston Paths Group volunteers were delighted to have been nominated and invited to the event.
Ms Ferguson said: “The success of Paths for All is based on many factors, but without doubt one of the most important is the volunteers that have shown extraordinary commitment and enthusiasm in supporting others in their quest to get moving and feeling better about themselves.”
