Borders members of Weight Watchers managed to shed a staggering total of 15,000lbs of excess weight over the course of 2014.

Local Weight Watchers leaders Rebecca Mills, Sheona Moffat and Sonia Riley are now celebrating the success of their members across the region.

Rebecca, Sheona and Sonia all lost weight themselves with Weight Watchers and went on to become leaders. They now have 20 years’ experience between them of helping thousands of other people move towards a much healthier weight and lifestyle.

“In 2014 alone, local Borders residents lost more than 1,080 stones – that’s equivalent to 90 12-stone people. We are so incredibly proud of our members and want to encourage other local Borders residents to follow suit,” said Rebecca.

“Not a day goes by when obesity or weight-related illnesses aren’t in the news. Losing just five per cent of your body weight can dramatically improve your health and wellbeing and help prevent serious diseases.

“For 2015, we are encouraging local residents to set a New Year’s resolution – get involved and spend the new year feeling the benefits of shedding those excess pounds and learning healthier habits.

“We have meetings in Lauder, Jedburgh, Selkirk, Hawick, Galashiels, Duns and Kelso, so there are even more opportunities for people to get involved than ever before.”
