Senior pupils from Hawick High School, with an interest in electronics and electrical engineering, visited Borders College recently.
The visit gave pupils an insight into the type of college courses on offer in the engineering and construction areas, as well as the opportunity to experience the college environment.
The group were met by programme leader John Rafferty and electrical engineering course tutor George Davidson. They were initially given an idea of the type of work the HNC Electrical Engineering course students were undertaking before being given a tour of both the Borders College construction and electrical workshops.
Course tutors Alan Reid and Greg Steel also organised a workshop for the pupils.
Teacher Dr Alastair Stirling and pupils were impressed with the facilities and pupils are more switched on about what Borders College has to offer. The school is keen to make this an annual event.
