More than 5,000 music fans throughout Scotland – including 47 Guides from Hawick and Newcastleton – descended on The Armadillo at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre to witness some of music’s top acts perform at Girlguiding Scotland’s Tartan Gig 2012.

Pixie Lott, Scouting for Girls, Cher Lloyd, Lovable Rogues, Jodie Connor and Dot Rotten wowed the girl-only audience at the exclusive event for Guides and senior section members, all aged 10 and above.

The event was hosted by CBBC’s Friday Download presenter Richard Wisker.

Multimedia competition winner Eve Robertson from 3rd Hawick Guides said: “Tartan Gig 2012 was fantastic and a day to remember. Pixie Lott and Scouting for Girls were amazing. I spent the day with a film crew and it was so much fun getting behind the scenes and interviewing the Guides after the concert.

Carol Wilson, 3rd Hawick Guide Leader, added: “All the girls had a brilliant time in Glasgow and the atmosphere was just amazing. For many of the girls it was a great adventure as this was the first time they have been to a live gig on this scale.”
