THE writer of acclaimed play Black Watch, Gregory Burke, returns with dark comedy Gagarin Way at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles next Thursday, March 3.

Among the four-strong Scottish cast, pictured right, is Jordan Young, who played Rossco in Black Watch which won a catalogue of awards and acclaim from across the world.

Jordan is a well known face to Scottish TV viewers, having appeared in Rab C Nesbitt, Rebus, Still Game, Only An Excuse, as well as numerous theatre performances.

Experienced actor Dave Anderson, of City Lights and Gregory’s Girl, Jimmy Chisholm and Finn Den Hertog complete the cast of a story centred on two Fife workers who kidnap a visiting boss to make a point.

A spokesman for Rapture Theatre, the company behind the play, said: “The whip-smart jokes come thick and fast in this politically charged, wickedly entertaining satirical thriller.”

Rapture have previously premiered work in Scotland by Arthur Miller, David Mamet, Sam Shepard, Joe Penhall and Steve Thompson.

Danny Boyle directs their latest production, while artistic director Michael Emans, who established Rapture in 2000, is part of the creative team.

Gagarin Way heads to the Eastgate as part of a UK tour, culminating in a week-long set of performances at London’s Greenwich Theatre.

Tickets are priced £14 (£12 concessions) for Gargarin Way, which starts at 7.30pm. Phone 01721 725777 for more details.
