From street kids to stage stars

A GROUP of street kids from Nepal will tell audiences in Peebles and Langholm about their experiences of finding a home and education.

From Street Kids to Stage Stars involves children from Kathmandu who are now housed in charity ROKPA’s home.

They will tell their own story through plays, dances and music of the Himalayan regions.

ROKPA is an international charity which supports around 150 projects to help the poor in the most remote regions of the world, in places where other charitable organisations have found it difficult to initiate and sustain humanitarian work.

Its work focuses on countries and regions where providing humanitarian aid is particularly challenging, but badly needed.

From Street Kids to Stage Stars is at the Buccleuch Centre, Langholm, at 7.30pm tonight with tickets priced £10 (£8 concession), and at Peebles’ Eastgate Theatre on Wednesday at 7.30pm, briefs available at £10 from 01721 725777.
