From fast track to fast food . . .

trainers will be swapped for kebabs if a planning application at the former Intersport store in Galashiels is successful.

Borders Games sprinter Iskan Barskanmay is hoping to open a kebab shop at the Market Street premises.

A total of four people would be employed in the takeaway if it is allowed to take over the empty building – and the shop would be titled Ozkan’s Grill if planning officers back Mr Barskanmay’s bid.

A decision is expected on the application by the end of November.
