POPULAR Orcadian Ivan Drever returns to the Borders tomorrow night as the Rolling Hills Folk Club’s headline act.

Drever is well known throughout the world of traditional music for his songwriting, as well as his work with Scottish band Wolfstone and his partnership with fiddler Duncan Chisholm.

His songs have featured on albums by the Dubliners and Davy Arthur and has written music for US-based Irish step dancer Liam Harney.

And son Kris has followed in his dad’s footsteps, picking up the best group title with his band Lau at last month’s BBC Radio Two Folk Awards in Glasgow, the fourth time the trio have picked up the trophy.

Ivan Drever performs in the George and Abbotsford Hotel in Melrose, at 8.30pm. Tickets are priced at £6, with concessions £5 and free entry to YoungScot cardholders.
