Free advice on building business with the local authority

An information and networking seminar for those in the local construction and skilled-trade sectors has been organised by Scottish Borders Council.

The free event takes place at Springwood Park, Kelso, on Wednesday, May 27, and runs from 6-8pm.

The aim is to provide information on how to start or develop business with the public sector.

Council professionals will be joined staff from Business Gateway.

Constructionline and Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) will also be represented.

From June, all contractors and sub-contractors working for the council have to be registered with both these schemes.

Also, there will be representatives from the Suppliers Development Programme which offers free training, support and information to firms on how to grow their businesses.

Pre-booking (on the Business Gateway Scottish Borders webpage) is preferred, but not essential.
