TALENTED fiddler John McCusker, pictured left, is joined by Mike McGoldrick and John Doyle on the Eastgate Theatre stage on Wednesday.
McCusker’s special fiddle-playing has earned him a worldwide reputation and allowed him to perform alongside some of folk music’s biggest names.
He has also worked with artists outwith the genre, ranging from Paulo Nutini and Jools Holland to Steve Earle and Rosanne Cash, and has recorded with Paul Weller, Mark Knopfler and Ocean Colour Scene.
A master of flutes, whistles and uillean pipes, McGoldrick is a founding member of Flook, and Lunasa, and a current member of Capercaillie. He has also toured extensively with Knopfler, the Afro Celts, RTE Orchestra and Kate Rusby.
As a guitarist, songwriter and vocalist, Doyle has played an essential role in the renaissance of Irish traditional music.
Now living in the United States, he was previously a musical director for Joan Baez and toured with her for two years.
One half of the duo Liz Carroll and John Doyle, he is also a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Irish group Solas.
The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets (£14) are available from 01721 725777.
