A FLOOD ALERT has been issued by has been issued for parts of the Borders with heavy rain forecast for this evening, writes Bob Burgess.
The alert was issued shortly before noon today by SEPA with the agency warning that the rain coupled with melting snow will lead to a risk of flooding.
Areas said to be most in danger are around the headwaters of the River Tweed and its tributaries.
The agency advised: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. The alert is now in force until further notice.”
