SELKIRK Accordion and Fiddle Club, recently saved from extinction, will celebrate tonight with a session in Selkirk Cricket Club, featuring guest artist Ewan Galloway.

Ewan, 20, who has only been playing the accordion for six years, released his very well received debut CD in December.

He is chairman of Coldingham’s accordion and fiddle club and is also the presenter of TD1 Radio’s Scottish Shindig.

He performs regularly at ceilidhs, dances and box clubs. Next month he will play at the Shetland festival with several other Border musicians, including Neil Hardie and Paul Capaldi.

Ewan will be joined in Selkirk by his tutor, John Leslie of Dunbar on second box, and the always in demand – notably with George Ingles and Rockin’ Horse – Tam Rankin on drums.

The fun starts at 7.30pm.
