Duo to play Mellerstain concert

ST Andrews University’s Feargus Heatherington makes a visit to Mellerstain House for the next concert of The Borders Music and Arts Guild.

The viola player and violinist will be joined by pianist Olga Gorelik on Thursday, April 19 at 7.30pm.

Feargus is currently associate teacher in violin, viola and chamber music at the historic Fife institution and is the professional leader of the university’s chamber orchestra.

He studied at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama – now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – and recently made his New York recital debut with American pianist Steven Beck.

He has been guest leader of orchestras and chamber ensembles in Scotland and has appeared with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Olga has given recitals throughout the UK and America and her performance highlights include an appearance at the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC.

The pair will play sonatas by Mozart, Brahms and Mendelssohn.
