A Christmas CD produced by artists from across the Borders is on target to raise £2,500 for charity.

The Borders Community Recording Society (BCRS) has had to make a second order of CDs to cope with demand after many positive reviews.

And the album has reached as far afield as Canada and New Zealand.

Producer John Kirk said: “As far as we are aware this is the first regional Christmas CD produced anywhere in the UK.

“It has broken down borders within the Borders, uniting musicians from east to west, north and south – further encompassing all major genres such as pop, jazz, blues, classical, Celtic and even country and western.

“All towns in the Borders are very enthused about the CD and the whole of the region should be very proud of the project.”

The BCRS is already planning a second Christmas CD for next year.
