VANDALS who smashed five windows at Scottish Borders Council’s family drop-in centre in Ettrick Terrace have been branded money wasters.
The crime happened between 3.45pm on Friday and 8.30am Monday in the Library Building used by the centre - the value of the damage not known yet. But the cost will be paid for by SBC as it attempts to make £6million cutbacks to services.
A spokesperson for the centre said: “This is a reckless and selfish act, which will ultimately cost public money to repair.”
Police are appealing for witnesses or persons with information about the crime.
