VICTIMS of bogus workmen who have not reported the crimes to police have been urged to come forward.
The plea was made this week by the Lothian and Borders force as two incidents were reported in Edinburgh. Three men drove a pensioner to bank to withdraw £400 and after they had bullied him into allowing them to clean his roof.
And a man who claimed he needed access to a house to fix a leak was refused entry when he failed to produce any identification.
It is thought the incidents are linked and that the men may have been in the Borders. A police spokesman said : “We are urging people to be alert across the force area and appeal for victims to come forward.”
