Three teenagers have been detained by police suspected of starting the blaze which destroyed the hospitality suite at Gala Fairydean Rover’s football home at Netherdale.

Police Scotland have confirmed two are aged 15 and the third is aged 16 and they have been reported to Children’s Reporter Administration.

And a police spokesman confirmed they are being reported for a total of 14 crimes in the Galashiels and Selkirk areas.

They include housebeaking, thefts from motor vehicles and vandalism.

The wilful fireraising at Netherdale in the early hours of December 23 destroyed irreplaceable memorabilia and club records
