A Peebles man has been reported to the procurator fiscal after being charged with assault in the town last month.
The 21-year-old is alleged to have punched an 18-year-old man in the face, knocking a front tooth out.
The incident is said to have taken place on Kingsmeadows Road on December 4.
Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after a saw worth £400 was stolen from a building site in Melrose.
The theft of the Makita Stihl saw took place between December 22 and January 13 at the Trimontium Heights site.
And a 28-year-old man from Hawick has been charged with possession of heroin after being searched by officers on Duke Street last Thursday morning.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
