Crews tackle Peebles home fire

THREE fire crews tackled a blaze which gutted a bungalow in a Peebles housing scheme last Friday.

Firefighters from Peebles, West Linton and Penicuik rushed to Eildon Housing Association’s Kingsland Square in the northern area of the town after fire broke out in a mid-terraced property at 8am.

No-one was injured in the incident and crews were stood down after three hours, with a Lothian and Borders Fire Brigade spokeswoman describing the blaze as serious.

The spokeswoman added that it was not known how the outbreak had started.
