Crafty way of putting Borders art on show

THE fifth Crossing Borders Art Trail is set to show off work from some of the most talented artists and craftspeople in the region.

It runs over two weekends, the west side of the Borders from August 31 to September 2, and the east from September 7 to 9.

The west side features artists and crafts people from Innerleithen to Stow, on to St Boswells and down to Chesters.

Among those showing, Gallery in the Alley in Jedburgh has Beastie Brooch workshops using copper, solder and beads.

Lindsay Roberts opens her studio in a caravan, with husband Hugh who produces paintings of the Borders landscape.

Ancrum Village Hall is the venue for furniture maker Rob Thomson, while in St Boswells textile artists Julia Cunningham and Grace Smith are exhibiting together.

Others taking part include Angela Hunter, Karen Nelson, Alison Delaney, Danielle Ray, Sivi Davey and Carol Norris MBE.
