A FAIR aiming to provide a venue for local crafters to display their products is opening today in Kelso.
“There has already been an encouraging amount of interest in this venture, and the crafts included so far include millinery, knitting and crochet, tablet-making, jewellery, quilting and patchwork, rag-rugs, and upholstery,” said Irene Goodfellow, who is behind Opporchancity Crafts, based in Bridge Street.
Having held an open day last Saturday to canvass the general public for their ideas and comments, Irene is also inviting artists to provide demonstrations and to run workshops for the community.
She added: “Initially, we plan to be open from 10am to 4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with the occasional Sunday for special events such as St James’ Fair.”
