Couple enjoyed their voluntary exile in Kelso

My husband and I recently spent six weeks in voluntary exile in Kelso.

We moved from our home in Ponteland, but found we were unable to move into our new property. Some very good friends from our church offered us a refuge in Kelso for two weeks, but we stayed much longer.

Our exile has given us a marvellous opportunity to explore the fantastic Borders country with the most beautiful villages and spectacular landscapes. We are spreading the word.

Finally, we owe a huge thank you for the friendliness and helpfulness we have found in Kelso. While we had visited in the past, staying here has given us a new insight into the Borders people. Our special thanks to those living in The Tofts and a huge thank you to the girls of G and S Hairdressers.

We will be back.
