Community councillors bypassing the main issue

In last week’s edition Selkirk Community Council’s secretary Alistair Pattullo said: “We fought tooth and nail to keep prime retail frontage”.

Perhaps it would be better if the community council “fought tooth and nail” for a badly-needed bypass as our Scottish Borders councillors who were elected nearly 10 months ago have gone very quiet on the issue, despite making it a pre-election issue, and given that the community council, on its website, supports such.

Come on, community councillors, really stand up for the town and be heard instead of the petty arguments re High Street usage.
