COLD weather payments were triggered in parts of the Borders on January 18 after a seven-day cold snap when the average temperature dropped below 0C.
Eligible residents in the TD7, TD9, EH43 and DG14 areas qualified for a government grant of £25.
Borders MP Michael Moore said: “I know that with rising prices many people are finding it difficult to pay their bills. The UK Government recognises that energy prices are a key concern. The Winter Fuel Allowance will make a real difference for Borderers.”
