Community beat police officers and SB wardens were on hand when Victim Support Scottish Borders held a coffee morning in Galashiels.

They were kept busy with queries from the public about crime and antisocial behaviour. Both police and wardens also hold regular drop-in sessions at the Victim Support office at 72 High Street, Galashiels.

The main purpose of the morning was to raise funds to assist victims of crime, antisocial behaviour and witnesses throughout the Borders. The event realised nearly £500.

Victim Support’s local committee is looking for more volunteers to help with such things as fundraising, publicity and events.

Anyone interested should contact the Galashiels office.

Also, anyone who has been a victim of crime or antisocial behaviour, or are required to give evidence in court and would like support, contact 01896 721212 or email VictimSupport.ScottishBorders@VictimSupportsco.org.uk.
