The February meeting of Galashiels Clef Club will take place this Saturday at 7.30pm at the Lucy Sanderson Hall, on the town’s Tweed Crescent.
The programme includes Shostakovich’s String Quartet No 8, Dvorak’s Sonatina in G Op. 100, Quantz’s Trio Sonata in C for flute, recorder and piano and Handel’s sonata in C for recorder and harpsichord.
There will also be vocal duets, songs with piano accompaniment and six baroque pieces for solo harpsichord.
All these pieces are performed by talented local amateur performers for a small, friendly audience of fellow members.
The Clef Club is based in Galashiels, but attracts members from all over the Borders.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Becoming a member is inexpensive and will help support the Borders music community. With only three more meetings until the summer break, Saturday’s event is a good opportunity to come along as a free, no-obligation guest, to see what the Clef Club can do for you.
