Christian Aid’s record collection

The middle of May saw much activity and enthusiasm in Kelso and surrounding villages.

People were involved in various events from a memorable MusicAid concert, fun quiz night, frugal lunches and the house-to-house collection.

It was ironic during the house-to-house collection that collectors had to dive for cover from heavy rain showers when so many of the communities that will be supported because of these fundraising efforts are struggling to survive during the worst droughts in living memory.

Theresult of all the enthusiasm, commitment, hard work and generous support from local people is that Christian Aid Week 2012 in Kelso and area broke all records and raised the wonderful sum of £6,475.98. This money will be used to support small communities like that of Mo-Albert in Sierra Leone change their lives by working their way out of poverty and dependency, and creating a sustainable community.
