A LEADING Welsh choir who have performed at the Royal Albert Hall eight times will perform in Hawick on Saturday, August 20, in honour of the Voice of Rugby, Bill McLaren, pictured top of page.
Money taken from the concert by Glynneath Male Choir in the town hall will be given to Hawick Community Council towards creating a bust of the famous commentator within his beloved Hawick.
John Thorburn, secretary of the Bill McLaren Foundation, said: “It should be a popular night.
“The links with Glynneath and Hawick are more than 50 years old and when the choir were here previously they played to packed houses. It is fantastic that they want to come to Hawick to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.”
Tickets for the event – which starts at 7pm – are £6 and £4, and available from ILF Imaging. More info at www.billmclarenfoundation.co.uk
