Among those taking part were reknowned Glasgow-based dance troop Hong Lok, who attracted a good crowd of onlookers.

As part of Chinese New Year, festival organiser Stephen Kwan is visiting local schools to talk to pupils about the various traditions of the Chinese festivities, and to show them how to use chopsticks.

More than 200 school pupils entered the annual poster competition run in conjunction with the Dragon Festival. This year’s winner was Megan Douglas from Broughton Primary School. Her design will be recreated as a mosaic and exhibited at Beijing Beijing Restaurant, Galashiels.
