ORGANISERS of this year’s Scottish Borders Tourism Partnership’s industry conference say spaces were booked in record time and a waiting list is now in place.
This year the partnership has teamed up with VisitScotland and Scottish Borders Council to deliver a tourism and events industry conference that seeks to show that “tourism is everyone’s business”.
The event takes place on November 21 at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, and will feature keynote speakers Steven Leckie, chairman of the Scottish Tourism Alliance and chief executive of Crieff Hydro, and Stephen McLean, the events programme manager for Homecoming Scotland 2014.
Catherine Maxwell Stuart, chairperson of the Scottish Borders Tourism Partnership, told us: “We’re delighted at the reception this year’s conference has received. “We have a really strong programme of speakers, and exciting developments such as the new tourism strategy and the Borders railway to discuss. It should be a great day.”
On the day, the new regional tourism strategy will also be presented, which features an action plan enabling the Borders to grow its tourism economy in line with the national strategy.
