Tourism booster

SCOTTISH Tourism Week takes place between March 4 and 13 with the backing of the Scottish Parliament.

Borders MSP John Lamont hopes the area will capitalise on this national event.

He commented: “Tourism is an incredibly important industry in the Borders and it is important that we do whatever we can to support it. We have some of the most stunning countryside that Scotland has to offer. In addition to our historical buildings, beautiful towns and great local produce our region is one of the most attractive in the whole of the UK. I hope that with the help of this campaign, more people than ever come and sample what we have to offer.”
