WORK on the new Sainsbury’s store in Kelso will get under way on Valentines Day.
The supermarket giant will start to develop the Pinnaclehill site on February 14, with a public open day to be held the following day in the Ednam House Hotel from 2.30pm to 7pm.
The public will be able to discuss Sainsbury’s proposal of application notice for alterations to the store to accommodate a cafe. They have insisted it won’t affect the size of store’s sales space.
Paul Miller, Sainsbury’s national development surveyor for Scotland, said: “We are excited to be finally progressing on our new store in Kelso and would like to thank the community for their support and patience throughout the process.”
